How 3PL Is Growing

More than 80 percent of domestic Fortune 500 companies outsource their logistics operations and most expect to use third party logistics providers more in the upcoming years, according to the University of Tennessee study sponsored by Kenco. 3PLs have widely increased in the last quarter century the only issue is that firms aren’t using 3PLS to their full advantage since they don’t do much research into the company there partnering with.
The advantage 3PL companies have with their customers are more strategic because, they look at their customers expectations and do everything possible to meet it to keep the relationship strong. 3PLs are more integrated partners with shippers just because now they look to us to not only to help them with a solution behind their challenges but also to fulfil. It has a lot to do with how well you can integrate an acquirement in terms of things like IT and branding, as our customers are asking us to integrate their business so we can best serve them.
The increased need for next-day delivery and international e-commerce expansion have helped 3PL relationship with Amazon since the demand is so high now. Surveys found that e-commerce represents 11.85 percent of North American 3PL income, with an expected increased to 20.85 percent in the next three years. The limitations have become endless with 3PL since now ordering online is as easy as pushing a button
